Ben's New Bed

On Sunday, we converted Ben's crib into the Toddler bed for him to start learning a little more about freedom. He really wouldn't of cared to still have the crib, but he is almost 3 and wants to start sleeping in Blake's room in the bunk beds. We thought this would be a good first step. I thought the new rail we were putting on would protect him from falling out. Although I learned later it was really just for decoration as it is below the mattress. Oh well.

We went in to check on him that night about 10:30 PM and this is what we found. Hilarious! We moved him back onto the bed, and I hoped he stayed there all night. When he woke up I asked him how he liked his new bed and he said it was great. I asked him if he woke up on the bed or the floor and he said the bed. Who knows! He doesn't seem to mind.

Christmas

Blake and Ben truly loved Christmas this year. We spent the month leading up to Christmas reading notes/scriptures from our Advent house and of course a candy to go along. That was something to look forward to every night.

We spent Christmas Eve morning/afternoon with the Baldwin family.

Christmas Eve night we got our cookies and milk ready for Santa. We finished our Advent and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas." Christmas morning Blake woke up at 5:30 AM YIKES!! He busted through our bedroom door shouting, "Santa brought the Wii!" He couldn't contain himself while Brent and I were trying to figure out what was going on. We were dead asleep. We tried getting him to go back to his room for a while, but I knew that wouldn't last long especially since he hadn't checked his stocking. So right about the time I was about asleep again, he ran through the bedroom door shouting, "Santa brought me a Webkinz!" Then of course it was over. We were for sure not going to get anymore sleep. That's what Christmas is all about! It did take me a few hours to actually wake up.

We went to Ben's room to wake him up! He did not move even with Blake screaming in his ear. Amazing! It took him about 10 min before he was ready to get up. He came down and saw the Wii. We checked out the stockings and opened a few gifts. I realize now that I didn't get very many good pics. This is because my camera was full since I hadn't downloaded any fall pics yet. We did get a lot of good video, which usually never happens. Oh well. Maybe next year.

Christmas evening the Anglin family came over to our house. It was fun to have everyone here and the boys loved playing Wii with their cousins.

Blake's Christmas Party

Blake enjoyed his Christmas party at school. They made some reindeer ornaments, played pin the nose on Rudolph, had lunch, and then a book exchange. Always fun to have a party at school!

Blake's Field Trip

Blake had a field trip to the Planetarium and Museum of Nature and Science. We saw a show about the solar system and saw all the constellations in the Planetarium. Then we moved on to the Museum of Nature and Science where the kids explored all there is to do there. Bugs, Fire Station, Farm with milking the cow, Water Area, Digging for dinosaur bones, etc. Blake loved ringing the fire bell, and playing the xylophone! Anything with lots of noise!!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving morning/early afternoon at the Baldwins condo. We enjoyed a great meal and time with the family. Then we headed over to Uncle Steve and Aunt Jackie's house at the beginning of the Cowboy game to spend time with my family. I'm not sure why I didn't take any pictures with my family on Thanksgiving, but we did have fun. The boys loved playing Xbox with their older cousins and playing basketball.

Blake's Bike-A-Thon

Blake had a Bike-A-Thon at his school to benefit St Jude's. All the kids loved riding their bikes, Razors, etc around and around. Blake completed 17 laps and had a lot of fun.

Halloween

We had a great Halloween this year. Blake decided he wanted to be Darth Vader, which was kind of random. I wasn't even sure he knew who Darth Vadar was but apparently the boys in his class love Star Wars. Ben was the hand me down Pirate, but he didn't seem to mind. Grandy took the boys to her church festival the weekend before Halloween. Blake had a Halloween party at school where they all dressed up and had a parade around the school. We enjoyed our Halloween evening meeting with the neighbors and seeing every ones costumes, we had dinner in our driveway with some friends, and then off to trick-or-treat. Brock, Erin, and baby Carter joined us. It was fun to have them go with us! Blake and Ben loved trick or treating!
