Spring Snow

Well this is the 4th time it has snowed this season, but this snow happened to be in spring. Yes, we received snow on March 21st, which was the 2nd day of spring. We didn't just receive a little snow, we got A LOT!! By this time, the boys weren't nearly as excited as the newness had worn off. We explained to them that snow 4 times in a season is Dallas is extremely rare. We bundled them up and they were off to enjoy it! I'm thinking that next year I should buy some better snow gear, but I'm sure the year I buy it we won't even have a snow day.

Brooklyn's Sixth Month

Brooklyn had some major developmental milestones in her 6 month. About 2 weeks before her 1/2 birthday she started sitting up independently. She felt like sitting was not that big of accomplishment, so she needed to start doing the army crawl right after. Seriously? While I was extremely proud of her, I was really looking forward to the sitting phase without her being able to go anywhere. Oh well. She is still slow, but already getting into things. Keeping up with her big brothers has already inspired her it seems.

She continues to be a very happy baby. I am starting to see glimpses that she most likely will be a very determined little girl. Big brothers, Blake and Ben, continue to adore her and she loves to watch all that they do!

Playdate with College Roomies

I am so lucky that all of my college roommates live in the DFW area. We meet often for fun dinners, and we try to get together with all the kids when everyone is off school, summers, etc. So the Monday of spring break, we loaded up and headed to Syd's house in Arlington. It's always a little crazy when we have 12 kids together, but we always enjoy ourselves. It was also Brooklyn's half birthday so I brought a cookie cake for us to celebrate. I am so blessed to have such great friends and I always look forward to all of our kids getting to play together. We will soon have a bakers dozen when Jana has another precious girl in September. After that I think we might stay at 13, unless someone has a really big surprise! I never would of thought we would have 13 kiddos between the 4 of us. So fun!!

Blake's Open House and Rodeo

Blake came home from school with a letter letting us know we needed to make a stick horse for the Kindergarten rodeo. Sounded like a great family project (ha) or more like a great project for me. Brent took the boys to the Baylor basketball game and this is what I got to do in my free time while they were gone. It basically took the whole time, and I gave up on all the sewing my neat little how-to's recommended. Lets just say that the hot glue gun and I became good friends. Here is the finished product...


We were to take the horse to open house and the rodeo was the next day. At open house Blake loved showing us all his masterpieces he had been working on.

I asked Blake to please, please be careful with the horse at the rodeo. I let him and Ben play with it for a little bit once Blake got home, and then quietly took Mr. Horse and hid him. He will be making his second debut in March 2012 when Ben comes home with a note announcing the wonderful stick horse project!!

Rockets Soccer

Blake has continued to play soccer on the Rockets. It has been so much fun to watch these boys grow over the last year and a half (2 fall seasons, and now the 2nd spring season). We have a great team and it's so much fun to play with neighbors and other kids at our school.
