Fort Worth Rodeo

We headed to the Fort Worth Rodeo on Sunday. This has been a family tradition in my family since way before I was born. It has been fun to continue it with my children. Brooke stayed with Grand and Pops and had a fun time receiving their undivided attention. We had lunch at Pappasito's before the rodeo, saw the rodeo, then headed to the midway. The boys had a blast and we enjoyed a great family day!

We rode it many times, and then he wanted to do it on his own. Who knows how much money we spent on the slide. Definitely worth it, as Ben was so happy.

Blake's MVP Poster

Each week a kid in Blake's class is selected as the MVP. Well Blake's turn was up. I called on Friday to say that I was on my way home and Blake was ecstatic to tell me he was the MVP and he already completed his poster. I was really happy he had personally done his poster, but of course the OCD side of me was terrified. What would I come home to find.


Blake had taken pictures he had downloaded from his camera onto the computer, put them into Microsoft Word, and printed them out. He was in heaven, but unfortunately most of the pictures were blurry and you couldn't tell what they were. On other sheets of paper, he had typed his address, phone number, and Miss Wolfe's name. I was proud of him, but also needed to think of a way to get a few pictures that told about him on his poster. It was a very fine line to not discourage the good work he had done.

Then he said he just wanted to take it all off and color the poster. I told him that was great, but I was going to print off a few pictures that we chose together to put on his poster. He was fine with that, so here is phase II.

Brooke's Fourth Month

Brooke started out her fourth month with croup. It started with Blake, then Ben, and last Brooke got her turn. I'm not liking our sickness trend. Let's hear it for kindergarten! So sad to see your little baby sound horrible with a nasty cough. The medicine worked wonders but unfortunately my good little sleeper started waking up in the middle of the night. No fun! She couldn't get rid of all her congestion, so she spent much of the month with crud.

During her fourth month, she celebrated her First Christmas and First New Years!

Right at the beginning of the year, she started rolling over from her back to tummy. At first she was unhappy on her tummy, but she learned to like it and quickly figured out how to get on her back again when she was done!

Her greatest source of entertainment are still her crazy brothers. Her eyes are glued on them at all times. Both boys are sure into their sister too!
