One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other.......


Yep, the top one has Brooklyn's name spelled wrong. That would be her original birthday dress that I pulled out on Saturday night before her birthday party on Sunday night.

My first thought was I couldn't believe the lady spelled her name wrong. Then I looked back at the email and yes, that would be her mom that spelled her name wrong. How in the world could I have done that?? I felt horrible and couldn't believe what I had done. When I received her dress it was a VERY crazy day and I pulled it from the mailbox, quickly glanced at it, was glad it came early and threw it in her closet.

Better yet, she was suppose to have her professional first birthday pictures that Monday, Sept 20th. I wasn't as worried about her birthday party, but I couldn't have pictures of her made in a dress where her name was spelled wrong. I felt horrible and called Julie who was to take her pictures and explained the situation and she was very agreeable to postpone for a couple of weeks.

I still can't believe this happened and I had to document it as I was a very stressed out, crazy mom trying to figure out how to make it all work!

Brooklyn's 1st Birthday Party

We had Brooklyn's party on Sunday evening with family and a few friends. She did not want to nap much that day and I was a little worried about her mood for the party, but she was great! We all had a great time celebrating Brooklyn's 1 year of life!!

Happy 1 Year Brooklyn

Wow, how fast this year has flown! I can't believe that my little princess is already 1. We have loved every minute of it and have cherished all of it since this should be the last baby we will ever have.

Brooklyn has not slowed down at all. She's into everything and still finding new things to climb. She started using her walker and uses it to navigate all around the house. One of her top teeth started coming in and boy it sure is a big one! Her screaming when we are out to dinner definitely has increased in frequency. She continues to double fist her food and eats an enormous amount of food for a 1 year old. It hasn't seemed to cause a huge increase in her weight. I guess she must be burning a lot of it off! She started taking a few steps on her own. She will take about 5-6 steps and then just drop and crawl off. It is fun to see her holding onto something and then just take off! She still is not very motivated to walk and prefers to crawl. I think walking is slowing her down. She is really starting to belly laugh and it brings a smile to everyone around her.

Brooklyn, you are such a wonderful addition to our family and we thank God everyday for you! We are super excited to see more of your personality develop. I think we can already tell a little bit about who you will become. You are sweet, determined, fiesty, independent, funny, and a daredevil. We love you!
