Spring Break

We had a great Spring Break! Blake wanted to go to the mall which we did with some friends and go to Planet Pizza. Planet Pizza is an indoor amusement park plus games and an indoor play area. He loved it. Ben did not want to ride any rides, but was happy to play games and in the play area.

Trampoline Fun

We got the boys a trampoline! It was a gift for Ben's birthday from us and then just a new spring time gift. They love to bounce and are always coming up with new games to play. This is their first time jumping. Well the first time was with our neighbors from next door so I decided for a second photo op with just Blake and Ben. It was funny. Our neighbors were anxiously waiting for Brent to finish putting the trampoline together. They were watching from their second story window and then decided to come over and get some first hand observation. The older one helped Brent tighten some screws. I don't know who was more excited......Blake and Ben or the neighbor kiddos.

Ben's 3rd Birthday

Ben turned 3 on February 16th. Yes, that was 2 months ago. Better late than never. We just had a small party with family and a few friends. This will probably be the last year we can have a small party so we took advantage of it. He had a great time and of course was spoiled with too many gifts.

Pajama Day/Crazy Hair Day

Today was Pajama Day and Crazy Hair Day at Blake's school. We decided to go with the classic mohawk. He thought he looked so funny. Very proud of the mohawk!

Ice Day

Last Wednesday we enjoyed the ice day. Blake was super excited to go outside and go ice skating. We got out the sled that was Brent's from when he was little. We pulled the boys around and then Blake got brave enough to slide down the big hill of our driveway (it's really just a slight decline but he did pick up some speed). He also liked playing on his fort and sliding down the ice slide. Then we were off to play with some friends where we had a great time. I love how our day changed from the usual crazy morning getting off to school and to bible study, and went to playing outside, enjoying our dad home for a little longer, and seeing friends.

Rodeo

We went to the Ft Worth Rodeo with my family on Sunday. I have been going to the rodeo with my family since I was little and it is fun to continue it with my boys. This was Ben's first year to attend and it went well. He thought all the horses running around the arena was pretty cool. Blake was more interested for the Cotton Candy man to make his way to our section. He was ready for the midway after his sugar overload.

At the Midway, Blake loved the truck ride, slide, fun houses, elephant ride, motorcycles, and tea cups. He was so happy! Ben did not want to participate in the rides, but he was interested in going to the petting zoo. He had his cup of food and was sitting on the ground. A little goat decided he was hungry and began to trample Ben for the food. He got a little upset, but handled it pretty well.

Ben's New Bed

On Sunday, we converted Ben's crib into the Toddler bed for him to start learning a little more about freedom. He really wouldn't of cared to still have the crib, but he is almost 3 and wants to start sleeping in Blake's room in the bunk beds. We thought this would be a good first step. I thought the new rail we were putting on would protect him from falling out. Although I learned later it was really just for decoration as it is below the mattress. Oh well.

We went in to check on him that night about 10:30 PM and this is what we found. Hilarious! We moved him back onto the bed, and I hoped he stayed there all night. When he woke up I asked him how he liked his new bed and he said it was great. I asked him if he woke up on the bed or the floor and he said the bed. Who knows! He doesn't seem to mind.
